This calendar keeps track of our complicated medication schedule. I can tell my body is reacting to the hormones. I am overly sensitive, and I recently noticed excess hair growing on my stomach. I am immersed in the fertility process and I have fallen behind on other life tasks like returning phone calls, exercising, and doing dishes.

A week ago, my grandfather told me to not let the doctors turn me in to “Octomom.” This made me feel like a freak and showed a complete misunderstanding of the process we are going through. Today, his wife half-jokingly asked Mike if the hormones have turned me into “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.” We try to brush off most unintentionally insensitive comments, but insults from family seem to sting a little deeper. I’ll be screening their calls for a while.
