Now, I drive to my doctor’s office everyday. Each time, I pay $3 to park, ride an elevator up eight floors, and let a nurse draw blood from my arm so that the lab can measure my hormone levels. Somehow, my doctor can tell me how fast my eggs are growing based on my levels. Then he tweaks the dosages of hormones that I inject into my belly later that night.
