After the implantation, our five remaining embryos were moved into these freezers. Intellectually, I understand that the blastocysts aren’t babies at all; they are simply clusters of cells with a lot of potential. Even so, it’s hard not to get sentimental when I think about them. I half-jokingly call the blastocysts our “babies on ice,” and besides my husband and unborn child, they are the most precious things in world to me.
